Obsidian Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara (Rat)
The patron saint of the Rat is the Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara. Thousand-Armed Guanyin is also the guardian Buddha of the month for those born in the eleventh month of the lunar calendar. Guanyin once vowed to save all sentient beings, but there are so many sentient beings that Guanyin feels quite powerless and incompetent. Then Guanyin transformed into forty-two Bodhisattvas of great mercy and compassion, with the intention of benefiting and bringing happiness to all sentient beings.
People born in the Year of the Rat often encounter more disasters in their lives. Only Thousand-Hand Guanyin can protect them throughout their lives. A generation.
