The patron saint of the Rat is the Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara. Thousand-Armed Guanyin is also the guardian Buddha of the month for those born in the eleventh month of the lunar calendar. Guanyin once vowed to save all sentient beings, but there are so many sentient beings that Guanyin feels quite powerless and incompetent.
